Jessica is currently a veterinarian with the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets but previously has also held roles with Cornell’s Animal Health diagnostic lab managing a regional office dedicated to helping farmers improve milk quality and management mastitis, and was a mixed animal private practitioner at the Canton Animal Clinic.  Since college at UVM, where she was first exposed to and learned to love cows and the dairy industry, Jessica has wanted to create a career where she can help support dairy farmers create a safe and healthy food source for the population.  She’s also happy to do so at home, married to a dairy farmer in Canton, NY, milking about 1700 cows.  While Jessica is one of the two veterinarians helping on her husband’s farm, she is dedicated to helping ensure that animal care and health are the highest priority.  She wants people to know that every farmer is committed to ensuring that the animals in their care and happy and well cared for, they are our most significant asset; and if we take care of them, they take care of us!
