A perfect example of the long-lasting impact FFA can have on a person’s life is Brooke Rollins, the newly appointed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Before becoming a key figure in national agricultural policy, Rollins was an active FFA member, where she first discovered her passion for leadership and advocacy. Her journey demonstrates how FFA serves as a powerful springboard for success in any career.
Brooke Rollins’ story starts in Texas, where she was deeply involved in her local FFA chapter. Through her experiences, she developed a strong foundation in leadership, public speaking, and community involvement—all essential skills for her later career in politics and public service. Her involvement in FFA helped foster a sense of responsibility and a drive to make a positive impact, qualities that would define her professional path.
After graduating from college, Rollins worked in a variety of leadership roles, ultimately becoming a key advisor and policymaker in agricultural and governmental circles. In her current role as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Rollins advocates for policies that support farmers, ranchers, and rural communities—areas that are close to her heart. Her rise to such a pivotal role in agriculture highlights the power of FFA to help members build a network, enhance their skills, and pave the way for a future in advocacy and leadership.
