June was National Dairy Month, and the Mobile Dairy Experience (MDE) celebrated by hitting the road to connect with schools, festivals, and communities across New York. From small-town school visits to large-scale food and wine festivals, the MDE offered thousands of people a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn about dairy farming, animal care, and the important role dairy plays in our lives.
Across seven impactful events, the MDE team met thousands of people from curious students to lifelong dairy supporters! They delivered hands-on, memorable dairy education and made life-long connections with folks within the dairy industry.
Here’s a look at where we went and what we accomplished in June:
Broome-Tioga BOCES
Location: Binghamton, NY
We kicked off the month at Broome-Tioga BOCES with a smaller group of older students who were incredibly engaged. From thoughtful conversations to a surprise cupcake delivery from the culinary class, this visit was full of meaningful moments. The trailer’s placement overlooking the parking lot helped drive strong visibility.

Armonk Lions Club Fol-de-Rol
Location: Armonk, NY
Despite off-and-on rain and smaller-than-expected crowds, the MDE had great conversations with attendees throughout the weekend. The trailer was placed across from a petting zoo, making it a natural stop for families and children exploring the fair.

Taconic Hills Schools
Location: Craryville, NY
This two-day visit brought energy, enthusiasm, and farm animals – thanks to Tollgate Farm and Hudson Valley Fresh! Calves, a bunny, and local cheese helped round out an exciting educational experience for students. The trailer was tucked away in the parking lot, limiting visibility, but it didn’t slow down engagement.

Queens County Farm Museum
Location: Queens, NY
Even with rainy weather, the MDE enjoyed two strong days at this historic urban farm. Placed along a popular walking path, the trailer drew steady foot traffic and sparked plenty of dairy-related conversations with museum visitors and passersby.

Hudson Valley Food Truck Festival
Location: Barton’s Orchard
The MDE was a standout attraction among the food trucks and festival fare. With a central location and high foot traffic, many families and couples stopped by to learn more about New York’s dairy industry.

LaFargeville Central School
Location: LaFargeville, NY
A quieter school visit to round out the school year, but no less meaningful. Students were focused, asked great questions, and truly made the most of the experience. A nearby sports event helped boost impressions in this rural area.

Adirondack Wine & Food Festival
Location: Lake George, NY
We ended June on a high note. The MDE welcomed over 750 guests on the first day alone, making this the highest-attended event of the month. Festival-goers were excited to learn, share stories, and ask questions about the dairy products they enjoy. We even welcomed a multigenerational NY dairy farming family to the trailer.
